Traumatic events cause great suffering. Many of us find it hard to accept what has happened. But living in denial will prevent you from properly healing from the traumatic event. It's okay to feel sad, anxious, angry, or even embarrassed. Allow yourself to feel, and express what you're feeling. Once you let your feelings pass, you will realize you have acquired greater inner strength. You may start to approach life with a new perspective. You have to be able to acknowledge the depth of your feelings before you can let go. You can and will feel better.
