5 Ways Hypnosis Can Help You Enjoy a Better Life

If you’re like most people, you want to live a life full of ease, happiness, and peace. After all, you’ve probably endured enough stress-filled days and issues. Are you aware that hypnosis may just be your ticket to living a better life? Yes, millions of people have tapped into the phenomenal power of hypnosis and have transformed their lives for the better!

Hypnosis can be a scary term for some people. This may be because they just don’t understand it. The truth is, hypnosis can actually have a lot of positive benefits and help you experience a better life when it is used properly.

What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is an altered state of mind where you are neither fully conscious, nor fully asleep; you are in between. Under hypnosis, your body and mind are completely relaxed and focused, which can put you to sleep fairly quickly because your body cannot resist. Many people choose hypnosis because it is an excellent way to relax your body, but there are some other things it can do for your mind and body that you don’t want to miss out on.

1.  Overcoming Fear

Many people have above average fears or phobias. I could list a few phobias that I have that can hinder my life in one way or another. For example, the fear of flying can keep people from traveling and enjoying the beautiful world. Or it could keep them from visiting loved ones that live far away. There are hundreds of phobias ranging from the fear of spiders to the fear of leaving your house.

Hypnosis has actually enjoyed a good reputation for helping people overcome their phobias. When you have an irrational fear, the irrational part of that fear is coming from thoughts or beliefs that live in your subconscious.

For example, my fear of flying comes from the irrational thought that if I fly, that plane is going to crash and I'm going to die a terrifying, terrible death. Other people can get on a plane and not contend with that kind of thinking at all. Some people actually enjoy flying and others enjoy it so much they get their pilot license and fly quite often.

While I haven't tried hypnosis to overcome flying fear of flying yet, I should. The intense amount of fear I have surrounding it is irrational. Flying is actually considered a more safe form of transportation than driving in a car. I’d like to believe that.

A hypnotist will contend with and help you dig out those irrational or faulty thoughts or belief patterns. And then they'll help you rewire the neural connections in your brain, replacing the false with more positive or logical thoughts or belief patterns.

So, whether you're dealing with the fear of heights or flying or needles, consider hypnosis. This is something I definitely need to put on my list of things to do.

2.  Quit Smoking

A popular use for hypnosis is that it can help people quit smoking. There are many people around the world who have used hypnosis to stop smoking. If you’re a smoker, then you likely understand that quitting can be challenging, especially trying to quit on your own. In fact, some experts say that smoking is one of the hardest habits to break. However, some types of hypnosis just might be the breakthrough a person needs to get there.

According to the CDC, nearly 50,000 deaths each year are directly related to smoking. It is one of the leading causes of things like cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and even fertility. A lot of smokers want to quit at some point and many of them try with little to no success.

Trying hypnosis doesn’t hurt, and it may just be the path for quitting.

3.  Weight Loss & Overeating

Hypnosis is known to help with overeating and weight loss too. There are plenty of workshops and seminars that are directed towards this specific use of hypnosis.

While weight loss and healthy eating are far more than just overeating, many people who struggle with overeating do so because of emotional connections to food that are incredibly challenging to control.

Those emotional and unconscious connections to food lead many people to unconsciously overeat. They’re eating out of programmed thoughts and emotions. Of course, this can lead to weight gain and be a challenge to weight loss.

Hypnosis for weight loss might take multiple sessions or tries because those who struggle with this have different triggers. The process works to act against triggers or to help you be able to find satisfaction with a few bites rather than a whole bag of chips. The hypnosis will help you change underlying, unconscious thoughts or beliefs about food as a source of comfort.

You can enjoy a better life with better eating habits because you will feel more like yourself. You will be more energetic and may enjoy better health. 

4.  Anxiety Control

People who have anxiety struggles are often ruled by that anxiety. They struggle to control their feelings and may not be able to fully enjoy life because of the anxiety bearing down on their minds. Those that struggle with anxiety disorders, it can be really tough to keep anxiety under control, no matter how much they try. 

Therapy and medication can help treat anxiety, but hypnosis may help too. Hypnosis delves into the subconscious and has been helpful for some people in minimizing anxiety symptoms. When you can come to understand the underlying thoughts or belief patterns that are causing the anxiety, you’re much more apt to heal them and suffer with less anxiety.

That being said, getting anxiety under control usually takes time and a combination of methods, especially if you’re dealing with an anxiety disorder.

5.  Improved Sleep

Sleep is one of the most essential habits in our lives. Many parts of our health and wellness revolve around getting appropriate sleep. From things like insomnia to busy lives to high levels of anxiety, many people struggle to get a good night’s sleep.

Hypnosis may help improve sleep patterns and treat things like insomnia or fear that might be leading to a lack of sleep. Getting a good night’s sleep will not only help you feel better overall, but also will most likely lead to a healthier, happier you.

Conclusion

Hypnosis does not have to feel scary. It may be a solution that works on a subconscious level and can help treat those things inside your head that are hindering you in some way. Of course, hypnotists are not miracle workers, but they can be valuable tools to help us sort out and change those thoughts or beliefs we have that are tripping us up in life.
