Some of us have an inner belief that we deserve bad things. Maybe you've had many bad experiences in the past, and you have been feeling down for so long that you just can't see beyond sadness. So when bad things happen, you make no effort to be happy because you think you somehow deserve it. That's not true. This belief makes you oblivious to moments of happiness that are right in front of you. You deserve good things. You deserve happiness. Allow yourself to fully savor happy experiences. You have to make an effort to bring positive change into your life and embrace happiness. You are worthy of joy. Don't let yourself believe that pain is all there is.
