Hello everyone and welcome back to another edition of Weekly Uplifting Stories!

“Every small, unselfish action nudges the world into a better path. An accumulation of small acts can change the world.” - Robin Hobb

All it takes is a tiny spark to keep the fire of hope alive in your heart. Examples of loving actions and kind deeds are all around us. Let us help you to bring your attention to the goodness in the world.

This week, we have collected delightfully positive stories about:

  • A Seattle baker who prepares 100 sweet treats every Tuesday for her neighborhood
  • A 10-year-old boy whose passion is to support as many good causes as possible
  • Mini libraries that give people free access to books all over the world
  • A little girl gives an adorable response assuming the pilot is directly talking to her
  • A quick-thinking girl saves crops from rain

Let's get into it!

Seattle Baker's Little Free Bakery Puts the Kindness Back in the Neighborhood

Seattle baker Lanne Stauffer spends every Tuesday in her kitchen - baking 100 delicious treats for her neighbors. By 3pm, people are lining up outside her house at the Little Free Bakery to get their weekly dose of love and sugar.

Lanne started her endeavor back in the pandemic, when people were looking to share a little kindness and reminders that they were not alone. The idea was inspired by all the Little Sharing Libraries people were putting up in neighborhoods all around.

She continues to bake for her neighbors, and receives all kinds of thank you cards and notes of gratitude.

"I think if you're a baker, you wanna bake for people. That's our love language. We're not poets or artists, right? We just wanna bake and tell you how much we love you," said Stauffer.1

You can follow the Little Free bakery on Instagram, where Stauffer posts her weekly menu.

10-Year-Old is Determined to Raise Money for Freedom Service Dogs

What started as a fun pastime with grandma and grandpa during the pandemic turned into a side business created to fund an admirable cause.

10-year-old Kobe has found a way to combine his entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to help others. He paints rocks with words of encouragement and sells them at the local Farmer’s Market.

Kindness Rocks (pun intended) is a donation-based business. People are welcome to pay whatever they wish for the cause.

“Kindness Rocks” has earned $300 so far. Kobe's goal is to make $500 this summer.

He has donated the proceeds of the sale to Freedom Service Dogs. This organization partners people with custom-trained assistance dogs. Their clients include veterans with PTSD, children and teens with neurocognitive disabilities, and people with physical challenges.

Kobe has been donating funds to support good causes as early as six years old. He even donated his birthday gift money to the Humane Society and Weld Food Bank.

Everyone is Welcome to Pick Any Book for Free at the Little Free Library

For 20 years, Little Free Library in has been encouraging a love of reading by giving people free access to books all over the world with their 'take a book, leave a book' sharing program.

This non-profit organization's mission is to inspire readers and remove all barriers to book access.

A global network of volunteers builds and maintains over 150,000 little book-sharing boxes worldwide, which are open 24/7. Anyone can take or leave a book at any time, and the regents who maintain them add little flourishes like bowls of water for dogs, and reading benches.

"These libraries are a perfect resource for readers young and old. It’s an activity that you can do throughout your lifespan," said Viree Byrne, regent of the Four Peaks Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).2

Having these little boxes also encourages more connections within communities and neighborhoods.

Little Girl Thinks Pilot is Talking Directly to Her

For little kids, every experience is new and exciting.

In a video taken on an American Airlines flight, little Adeline is actively listening to the pre-flight announcement.

She replies, "Okay! I've got my seatbelt on", assuming the pilot is directly addressing her. Her adorable response has won over many hearts online.

"I love that she’s looking up to where they’re coming from, so she can make eye contact," Wrote a commenter.

Another one responded, "Her teachers are going to love her."

Little Adeline can surely inspire us to pay better attention to safety briefing on our flight trips.

Little Girl Saves Crops From Rain

In this heart-warming video, a little girl is seen rushing to move her family's crops indoors when it started raining suddenly at a village in southwestern China’s Guizhou province.

The little girl was quick to scream for help from her grandmother, who was working further away on the farm.

Wasting no time, this four-year-old immediately started picking up the corn to move it back indoors.

Her sense of responsibility and resilience has touched many people online.

"I wish the girl grows into a strong woman, the world needs her."

"The little girl knows the importance of saving the crops."

She might be little in stature, but her heart is big!
