Do you think and talk about your goals and dreams often, yet seem to make little progress towards them?

You’ve been trying the same things, but you’re just taking baby steps?

If so, perhaps you need to change things up a bit. Maybe you can learn how to create a different action plan to really get what you want.

Dream Big & Go For It

I think dreaming up big goals is wonderful!

Everyone should take some time daily to daydream about all the things they desire in life – all the way from careers to homes to relationships.

In fact, the law of attraction asserts that what you put your focus on, you are attracting more of the same. So, the more focus you put on your goals and dreams, the more resources, tools, knowledge, assistance, and helpful people you’re attracting into your existence.

Today, I want to talk about how you can create a brilliant action plan so that you can accomplish your short term and long-term goals – even the ones that have been taking forever.

We all know that writing down a goal is one thing, but actually coming up with a plan to accomplish that goal is another. It’s important to strategize your plan so that you can be well on your way to living a life you love.

5 Things You Can Do to Make a Plan for Change

1. Create Short and Long Term Goals.

One of the biggest reasons why people do not reach their goals is that they do not write them down and create an action plan to achieve them.

Successful men and women will tell you right up front that they believe writing down their visions and dreams plays a key part in their success. They did not just aimlessly go from day to day with random thoughts about success, but they purposefully created their goals and wrote them down.

Think about your goals and a time frame.

Perhaps you can have goals set for 6 months, 1 year, or 3 years down the road.

Take a day, two, or a week to really decide upon what you want in your life and write it down.

2. Write Down the Steps Needed to Accomplish the Goals.

Maybe you want to become District Manager of your company.

What do you need to do for that to happen? Write it all down.

Want to open your own business?

Write out every step that you need in order to make that a reality.

If you don’t know what to do, do some research on the internet, purchase books and resources that will teach you, or hire a Life Coach that will assist you and keep you accountable.

I guarantee you that whatever your goal is, there are people who have already attained that goal and a great deal of information is in print to assist you in doing the same.

Here is an example of a brilliant action plan to achieve a two-year degree in nursing:

  • Research nursing schools
  • Decide on the best one for you
  • Apply to the college
  • Read about health and nursing topics for one hour per day
  • Once accepted, make an appointment with an academic advisor
  • Figure out finances and speak with financial aid advisor
  • Enroll in appropriate classes
  • Purchase books
  • Begin making contacts in the local hospitals and clinics
  • Join groups for nursing professionals for support and help

This list is not exhaustive, but it is a good start to obtaining a nursing degree. Do your best to create detailed steps to your goals, as you are much more apt to follow through when you write things down.

3. Be Focused and Determined.

When working toward your goals, stay focused and determined.

I’m sure you or a friend has made New Year Resolutions and within a week or two, the goals that were made were completely forgotten about and life went on as usual. The focus and determination dwindled.

A great way to keep focused is to look at your goals each day. Another helpful way to stay determined is to read and listen to motivational and inspirational literature.

  • Read about others who have accomplished their goals.
  • Listen to success stories.
  • Keep yourself stirred up and excited about reaching your goals.

4. How to Overcome Obstacles.

Don’t be surprised if obstacles arise from time to time as you determine to get what you want.

Know ahead of time that things like boredom, frustration, lack of resources, and setbacks may occur.

How do you overcome them? You acknowledge them and at the same time you bear down with a determination to get over them.

Runners who happen to hurdle don’t stop when they see a hurdle. They muster up strength and skill to jump over them and keep going. Sometimes they may bang their knee, but they keep going.

Likewise, you can jump over your hurdles with determination and a resolve to keep your momentum moving forward despite anything.

5. Surround Yourself With Resources.

Be sure that you tap into the resources around you that will foster momentum.

Befriend those with the same interests as you.

Go to workshops and seminars.

Invest in books and DVDs that will help you to stay motivated and excited about going after your dreams.

You Can Achieve Your Goals

Friends, I want you to dream big dreams that will help you feel happier and more fulfilled.

Write them down, look at them daily, create action plans, and get moving. Do what it takes to keep yourself motivated. I truly believe that you can be and do anything that you want!

Love the article of victim or victor.
Gave me the chills thinking about how easy it is to slip from that confident positive person to a negative blaming non accountable person. It's not easy but it 's necessary to be awre of the difference in those two voices ( vices).🎊❤😀

Thanks Pamela! We love to hear from you. It's so true, especially when we feel defensive or embarrassed about something. It's so much easier to just blame things on other people or situations than it is to accept our role, learn from what happened and move on. It can be entirely empowering to realize how much of your life IS in your control. Thank you for your comment. 🙂
