Hello everyone! It's time for another heartwarming article of Uplifting Stories.
This week we have an Alabama woman who uses part of her paycheck to fund random acts of kindness, a teen who sends socks to assisted living homes around the USA, a proud mama visiting her son at his job and an actor sweetly surprised by an adoring audience.
Let's get the week started off right, shall we? Here are your stories to make you smile.
Birmingham, Alabama convenience store Assistant Manager Lyn Thomas uses parts of her paycheck to fund random acts of kindness in her community. Her project "Sowing On Purpose" focuses on showing unconditional love, kindness, and compassion to other people.
From buying someone lunch to doing random games and draws on her Instagram account, Lyn tries to spread a little joy and pass along random acts of kindness, while helping her community. She was just interviewed by Jennifer Hudson, so hopefully her good acts will get more attention!
Teen Elle Gianelli puts a smile on the faces of seniors in assisted living facilities by delivering bright, patterned socks and thoughtful notes. She started her Socks4Seniors program raises money to fund buying and sending colorful socks to assisted living facilities in every state. (So far, she has sent socks to 40 states.)
Elle and her mum, Rachelle, visited a local nursing facility in 2020 for an arts and crafts event. Shortly after, the pandemic hit us all and Elle found herself wondering what would happen to all those folks who were stuck without visitors.
There's nothing like a mother's love!
This Instagram video shared by a reporter named Myles Harris shows his mother greeting him cheerfully while he is on his job. Myles was preparing to film a news report when a familiar car pulled up behind him - and his mom rolled down the window to say hi and wave to the camera.
If you need a pick me up, this video had me laughing out loud. SO adorable.
This video captures actor F. Murray Abraham’s heartwarming reaction when fans cheered for him at Golden Globes. The look on his face when he realizes people are cheering for him is priceless. The 83-year-old actor then treats fans to a momentary fashion model moment as he smiles for the cameras.
Abraham made his film debut in 1971, won an Oscar in 1985 for his work on Amadeus and was recently featured in the show White Lotus.

The company, Schaduf, hopes to expand the technology to other shops to help reduce the high carbon footprint that comes with the travel involved in shipping fresh fruits and vegetables. They also create green walls and rooftop farms.
And there you have it! Hopefully, these stories will inspire you - or at least brighten your day with a little human sunshine. There are good things happening in the world right now too - we just have to look a little harder for them sometimes.
