Learn to fly. Learn first to love yourself
F: First
L: Love
Y: Yourself
Are you the one who loves others more than you love yourself?
Have you ever overlooked your desire to fulfill the desires or wishes of others?
Have you ever agreed to all the wrongs of others, even if you're right?
Have you ever liked what you dislike because the other person likes it?
The others here are your close and loved ones.
Well, if your answer to all these or even one of these questions is YES, it means you lack the courage to love yourself. You lack self-love.
You need to realize why you come first and others second. It will help if you enlighten yourself with the knowledge of the importance of self-love.
When you start focusing on others more and neglect yourself – you should know that self-love is nowhere near you.
Sometimes we learn to love ourselves from our early childhood days, and sometimes we don't. Similarly, there are days when we know that we need to put ourselves first. Alternatively, there are those days when it's hard to notice our needs in front of others' needs.
Well, it's never wrong to have those people around you, especially those whom you love. However, how is it possible to love someone faithfully if you can't love yourself consistently? That's when self-love becomes mandatory for everyone.
"Self-love is not selfish; you cannot truly love another until you know how to love yourself."
We often think self-love is a useless thing. On the other hand, finding love in others makes us feel happier. But have you ever felt the pleasure of putting yourself first? It's okay to feel lost occasionally, but it's not okay to not urge for self-love again!
We all have people we love, but they're not always constant. Some go, some stay, and some change. Yet, the one person who always stays with you is only "You."
Through the darkest days and darkest nights, you've fought your fight..Through your thick and thin, you hide in your skin…Through the storms, you stood strong… you're the one who stays with you all along…
Then why do you look for others when you have yourself? Besides, losing self-love is not only limited to that, but this feeling brings more complex circumstances in the future. For instance, you can have mixed feelings if you're not comfortable with yourself.
At times like these, it's hard to please others when you aren't delighted with yourself.
However, what can help you here? Can you guess?
Yes, self-love takes you on a unique route of self-discovery, self-acceptance, and glory. Now it's not just about reading self-love books or understanding this concept. Instead, it's also crucial to know how self-love can change your life for good. It includes benefits like:
With all these benefits of self-love, why let-go of this beautiful feeling? It might be hard to practice self-love consistently.
Besides, the good and bad days are always constant. So, you can't always love yourself in the same way. The way night doesn't last for long; every sunshine should bring new hope and desire to love yourself before finding love in others.
"You can't pour from an empty cup. Take care of yourself first."
Lastly, self-love is a very prestigious concept. However, we often forget that it's important to love ourselves. In this changing world with never-constant people, our lives can only change according to how we feel about ourselves. But is that fair? Certainly not!
So, even when no one's around, or the competition is enormous, one should always put themselves first! Once you do that, you'll see how magical it is to love yourself!

Thank you for this article! This is something I am very much working in my life.
I finish this comment with one last question/comment, this comes to mind because of all my research and knowledge gained over the last couple of years.
Could 'self-love' be one of the biggest causes to early death? I say this because if you don't love yourself then there is so much missing within and you lack the desire to look out for yourself and heal yourself.
Thank you for this information about loving myself. I’ve struggled with loving myself since childhood, after reading this I realized I am a people pleaser, I was picked on so much I learned that making others happy made me happy, then they wouldn’t pick on me🥺. WOW! I am grateful to you for this article, starting right now I LOVE ME, THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH ME, GOD LOVES ME JUST THE WAY I AM AND SO DO I, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Please keep sending me these inspirational daily motivation messages. I’m also a people pleaser so much that if I make a plan in the morning I can let others sway me away from it. I have to remind myself to carry out the plans I have to Love Myself ie loose weight, walk daily, list plans to keep on top of things. Thanks! Much Appreciated!
