Another tip that is very helpful is: Get sunshine on your face (Forehead, eyelids, etc.) and when possible the inside of your elbow and other areas of your skin. Especially, early morning sunshine as one reason for the blues in winter is the lack of sunshine and the vitamins it stimulates in our bodies. If you can't get sun (you live in Alaska) then get a light box to do the same thing.
I have winter blues for a completely different reason! I live in the sun belt and have never lived where there are seasons! I would love to experience a real autumn and snow. I dont mean to complain, but t shirts and flip flops year round are just not exciting. So I have to use these tools to stay +++ and just appreciate!
